“Each of the artists is highly talented within their discipline; together, they are dynamite. The rapport between them is palpable and the performance is seamless. World-class.”
In 2014, four Welsh actors and musicians Glenda Clwyd, Phylip Harries, Lowri-Ann Richards and Sean Williams met to share their passion for the words and music of Wales. And so was born a new performance group – Aur Cymru, Welsh Gold.
Joined now by Llinos Daniel, Aur Cymru’s performances are a reverent, nostalgic, bawdy and biting celebration of Wales and Welshness in poetry and music from the sixth century to the present day.
Llinos Daniel trained at Royal Holloway and Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. As an actor, she has worked extensively in theatre, TV and film throughout the UK
Theatre roles include Lady Macbeth in Macbeth – Kill Bill Shakespeare, Myfanwy Montez in Aberystwyth Mon Amour and Angela in Eye of the Storm, with music by Amy Wadge. TV work includes Hinterland and Torchwood.
Llinos tours as a soloist and harpist with the Black Mountain Male Chorus of Wales in America. Her album Themes and Dreams of Wales is on Black Mountain Records.
Lowri-Ann Richards trained at the Webber Douglas & Central School of Speech & Drama. Early success won her two top ten hits with the band Tight Fit. Acting credits in theatre, TV, radio & film are numerous and include Royal National Theatre and off-Broadway appearances.
A native Welsh speaker from North Wales, you can often catch Lowri-Ann performing UK wide in her quirky and comedic cabaret show Two Blondes and a Harp alongside harpist Dylan Cernyw.
